Explorer was chosen by the office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, to produce a comprehensive and prestigious national book on the UAE’s space exploration activities.
Emirates Mars Mission: The spacecraft, 'Hope', is set to arrive at Mars in 2021 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the founding of the UAE. The rocket must blast off from Earth during a brief 'launch window' in July 2020. This is because the Earth and Mars orbit the Sun at different speeds, and are aligned at their closest point only once every two years. If any part of the mission is not ready in time or fails at the last minute, there may be no second chance.
After conceptualising the design and style of the book, in Arabic and English, Explorer combined breathtaking imagery of the red planet with the author's inspiring work to create a must-have record of the UAE's Mars mission.
We worked closely with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre team to showcase their incredible achievements to date and highlight the ambitions of the UAE to develop a space sector with Emirati expertise. With visually appealing infographics explaining the various principles discussed in the book, this book details a groundbreaking mark in UAE history.
